What lamp should I use to cure TWENTY products?

Our Professional Smart Lamp is specifically engineered to effectively cure all products within the TWENTY range.

Additionally, our gels have been rigorously tested with the SunUV lamp range, which is both affordable and efficient, allowing you to try out our gels without needing to investing in an exclusive lamp.

We recommend using a 36W UV/LED lamp that operates at a minimum wavelength of 365 + 405 nanometers for optimal curing of our products. Using a lamp with lower power may result in inadequate curing.

For our BUILD & BOOST™ builder gel in a bottle, we suggest curing it in a lamp that features a 99-second low heat mode to avoid heat spikes and ensure complete curing.

Our HEMA-free collection cures in just 90 seconds per application.

Do I need to apply HEMA free differently to regular gel polish?

Due to the absence of HEMA, it is crucial that the nail is fully prepared before application to enhance adhesion and extend longevity. Follow our tips below to ensure your HEMA-free set lasts!

Nail Preparation

Start by pushing back the cuticles from the side walls of the nail, gradually working towards the center. Invisible cuticle debris can grow into the middle of the nail plate, making it essential to remove this rather than focusing solely on the cuticle area.

Using a cuticle curette, gently pull back the side walls of the nail and clear any remaining cuticle from these areas as well as from the cuticle itself.

Make sure to consistently use a dust brush to remove any cuticle debris from the nail plate as you work. This will help you easily identify when no further cuticle is lifting from the nail while you gently scrape.

File the nail into your desired shape, and with a 100/180 grit buffer, lightly etch the nail plate by buffing each nail in various directions until the shine is removed from the natural nail. This process creates a better surface for the product to adhere to and improves adhesion. It’s important to focus on the sides of the nail as well, taking care not to buff the skin. You can place your thumb over the cuticle area to prevent over-buffing and redness.

Dust off any remaining debris, and using a lint-free wipe soaked in nail prep solution, thoroughly wipe each nail individually. Ensure that all dust and debris are removed from the side walls of the nail. This will help eliminate any residual oils and slightly dehydrate the nail, contributing to the longevity of your manicure.

Do you have any application guide to follow?

Of course! Proper application of gel products is crucial in avoiding allergic reactions. Watch Twenty's guide on how to achieve safe and long lasting gel manicures.

What should I do if myself or a client experience an allergic reaction to a product?

If you experience any issues, please remove the product immediately and discontinue use. If needed, seek medical advice. Additionally, contact us at hello@miloorecosmetics.se or TWENTY at hello@twentypro.co.uk to inform us of any suspected allergic reactions to their products. It is a legal requirement for cosmetic retailers to log and investigate any adverse reactions, so please notify us promptly of any reactions you may encounter.

To reduce the risk of allergic reactions, we recommend taking the following precautions:

1. Always wear non-permeable nitrile gloves when handling UV-curable gels.

2. Avoid any contact with the skin; if contact occurs, remove it immediately.

3. Do not allow any product to cure on the skin.

4. Cure using a 36W UV/LED lamp with wavelengths of 365 + 405 nanometers. Read about which lamps we recommend under the question "What lamp should I use to cure TWENTY products?". Please adhere to the curing times specified for each product on its product page and label.

5. If hands are removed from the lamp during the curing process, compensate for any lost seconds with an additional curing session. It is not possible to over-cure our products.

6. When removing your gloves, use a 'no-touch method'; do not pull from the fingertips where product may be transferred. Instead, pull down from the wrist, turning the glove inside out, and dispose of it in general waste. Always use a fresh pair of gloves for each client.

7. Always wash both your and your client's hands with warm, soapy water after the final application of top coat and before applying any hand creams or cuticle oils.

8. Our products are intended for use by qualified nail professionals only.

What is the difference between BUILD & BOOST™ and FLEX & BOOST™ builder gels?

BUILD & BOOST™ is a traditional 'builder in a bottle' that does not require a primer or base coat, allowing it to be applied directly to the natural nail. However, for clients who are particularly prone to lifting, you may choose to apply Vit + Primer and/or Rubber Base Coat prior to application.

BUILD & BOOST™ is ideal for strengthening natural nails and creating long extensions using tips or forms. It can be infilled or soaked off with acetone.

BUILD & BOOST™ contains 10% HEMA.

FLEX & BOOST™ is our HEMA-free bottled builder gel, and it is also free from Di-HEMA, HPMA, and IBOA. It is important to use a HEMA-free Superbond Base Coat or HEMA-Free Base Coat to ensure good adhesion and longevity.

FLEX & BOOST™ is excellent for enhancing the strength of natural nails; however, we do not recommend using it to build long extensions with tips or forms due to its lower viscosity.

FLEX & BOOST™ can also be infilled or soaked off with acetone.

Do you have any tips and advice for HEMA Free longevity?

Due to the absence of HEMA which is an adhesive ingredient, it is important that the nail is fully prepped before application to aid adhesion and increase longevity. Follow our tips below to help your HEMA free set last!

  • Push back cuticles starting from the side walls of the nail, working your way into the centre of the nail. Invisible cuticle matter can grow right up into the middle of the nail plate, so it's important to remove this and not just concentrate solely on the cuticle area.
  • Using a cuticle curette, gently pull back the side walls of the nail and work out any remaining cuticle from these areas as well as from the cuticle area itself.
  • Consistently use a dust brush to dust the removed cuticle from the nail plate as you are working, this allows debris to be removed so you can easily tell when no further cuticle is lifting from the nail as you gently scrape.
  • File the nail into your desired shape, and using a 100/180 grit buffer, etch the nail plate by gently buffing each nail in different directions until you have taken the shine off the natural nail. This will help give the product something to hold on to and aid adhesion.  It is important to concentrate on the sides of nail too, taking care not to buff the skin. You can place your thumb over the cuticle area of to avoid any over-buffing and redness.
  • Dust off any remaining debris and using a lint free wipe saturated in nail prep solution, thoroughly wipe each nail individually, taking care that all dust and debris is removed from the side walls of the nail. This will help to further remove any oil from and slightly dehydrate the nail, helping to prolong the life of your manicure.
  • Apply one coat of Superbond Base Coat and cure for 90 seconds or 99 seconds in low heat mode.
  • Apply a thin first coat of FLEX & BOOST and using the 'scrubbing method', work the product into the nail plate in back and forth motions with your brush. This will help the product fill the tiny grooves left by etching the nail plate after buffing, offering further adhesion of the product to the nail plate. Cure for 90 seconds (or 99 seconds on low heat mode if heat spikes are experienced).
  • Apply a 'slip layer' of FLEX & BOOST™,  this is a coat of product that remains uncured on the nail. Next, apply a very small bead of product and place it in the centre of the nail plate and allow the uncured slip layer to draw the rest product across the nail and settle. Gently 'bounce' the remainder of the bead up towards the cuticle area and draw the remaining product down the nail in a side-to-side motion, sealing free edge.
  • It is important that the free edge is not overloaded with product as this can lead to lifting.
  • FLEX & BOOST has a lower viscosity than regular builder gel, so you may find you require less product for each nail and may need to cure each nail individually, curing for 90 seconds (or 99 seconds on low heat mode if heat spikes are experienced).
  • Do not soak nails in water or wash your client's hands before application. Additional moisture can lead to eventual lifting of the product.
  • Do not apply oils, cuticle remover solutions or hand creams to your clients hands before application, this too can lead to eventual lifting of the product.
  • Advise clients to avoid harsh chemicals including cleaning products, chlorine and retinol.
Can HEMA Free FLEX & BOOST™ be used with tips of forms?

We do not recommend using FLEX & BOOST™ to build long extensions due to its lower viscosity. For achieving long, strong overlays, we suggest using our range of BUILD & BOOST™ products.

Can BUILD & BOOST™ and FLEX & BOOST™ be infilled?

Yes, both products can be infilled.

I'm having trouble removing my gel product, what can I do?

All of our products can be soaked off using 100% acetone. Make sure you file off enough product to allow the acetone to penetrate deeply for effective removal. We recommend filing away 70-80% of the gel overlay before soaking. An E-file can expedite the removal process.

If the product is not completely removed after the first soak, rewrap the nails and soak again. Ensure that the nails are securely wrapped in foil with the shiny side facing inward to facilitate natural heat conduction from the body, which will help speed up the process.
